Refund policy
The professional fee is ours and follows the schedule below. Government fees are the department's, and once paid they are gone whatever the outcome.
Last updated 21 Aug 2026
This policy covers services ordered from MR Filings. It draws one line down the middle of every invoice: the professional fee, which is what you pay us for the work, and government charges, which we collect and pass straight to a department on your behalf.
Refunds on the professional fee
| Stage your file has reached | Professional fee refunded |
|---|---|
| You have paid but we have not started drafting or document preparation | Full amount |
| Drafting or document preparation has started, nothing submitted yet | Pro rata for the work not done |
| The filing has been submitted to the department | Not refundable |
Pro rata means we tell you what was done, what it was worth, and what is coming back, before we process anything. You get that in writing.
What is never refundable
- Government filing fees, once paid to a department
- State stamp duty, once paid
- Charges for a digital signature certificate, once issued, because the certificate belongs to you and remains usable
- Any third-party charge already paid out on your instruction
This is not a position we choose. A department does not return its fee because an application was withdrawn, rejected or abandoned, so we have nothing to return to you.
If a filing is rejected
Where a rejection or an objection follows from our work, we reply to it and resubmit at no further professional fee. Where a department charges its fee again on resubmission, that charge is payable again, and we tell you the amount before anything is filed.
Where a rejection follows from information or documents you supplied that turned out to be wrong, incomplete or late, the resubmission is quoted as fresh work.
Name approvals specifically
A rejected company or LLP name consumes the government fee for that application. We run a check against the MCA register and the trademark database before filing precisely to reduce this risk, and we file a backup name where the service allows it. A rejected name is not a refundable event on the government side.
How to raise a refund request
- Email hello@mrfilings.in with the service, the date you paid, and the amount
- We acknowledge within 2 working days and tell you which stage your file had reached
- Approved refunds are processed within 7 to 10 working days
- Refunds go back to the account or instrument the payment came from, not to a different account
If we cancel
If we end an engagement for a reason that is not your fault, the professional fee for work not yet done is refunded in full. If we end it because we were asked to make a filing we believe to be false or unlawful, the fee for work already done is not refunded.
Chargebacks
Raise a refund request with us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback filed while work is in progress freezes the file, and government charges already paid out cannot be recovered by that route either.
