What registration protects
A trademark protects the name and the mark customers use to find you. Registration gives you the exclusive right to use it in your class and the standing to stop someone else who starts trading under something confusingly close.
Filing early is cheap and filing late is not. Once a competitor registers first, you are arguing about prior use with evidence rather than pointing at a certificate, and rebranding is usually the more expensive option.
Best suited to
- Brands about to spend on packaging and marketing
- Sellers applying to brand registry programmes on marketplaces
- Founders who found a similar name in the market
- Anyone who received a cease and desist letter
Documents you need
- The word mark or the logo file to be registered
- PAN and address proof of the applicant
- Udyam certificate if you are claiming the reduced government fee
- Incorporation certificate for a company applicant
- Signed Form TM-48 authorising us to file
- Proof of first use if the mark is already in the market
Scanned copies are enough to begin. We check every document against the department's current format before filing, because a rejected form costs more time than a resubmitted scan.
How the filing runs
Get free consultationSearch and class selection
We run a public search across the relevant classes and tell you honestly if the mark is worth filing.
TM-A filing
The application is filed with the correct class, applicant category and government fee, and you can use the TM symbol from that day.
Examination reply
If the examiner raises an objection we draft the reply, and attend the hearing when one is listed.
Publication and registration
The mark is published in the journal, and once the opposition window closes the registration certificate is issued.

Trademark questions
How much is the government fee for a trademark?
The e-filing government fee is 4,500 rupees per class for individuals, startups, small enterprises and MSME certificate holders, and 9,000 rupees per class for everyone else. It is charged separately from our professional fee.
How long does trademark registration take?
Filing takes days, and you can use the TM symbol immediately. Registration itself usually takes twelve to eighteen months if no objection or opposition is raised, and longer if either is.
What is a trademark class?
Goods and services are divided into 45 classes. You register in the classes that cover what you actually sell, and filing in the wrong class is one of the most expensive mistakes to correct later.
What happens if my application is objected to?
The examiner issues a report and you get a window to reply. We draft the reply with evidence of distinctiveness or use, and attend the hearing if the registry lists one.
