Somebody else's money
Tax deducted at source is money withheld from a payment that belongs to the person you paid. The return is what tells the department who it belongs to, and until it is filed correctly your employee or vendor cannot claim the credit.
That is why the errors matter more than they look. A wrong PAN or an unmatched challan does not just risk a notice, it quietly removes a real deduction from a real person's tax computation, and they find out at filing time.
Best suited to
- Employers deducting tax on salaries
- Businesses paying rent, contractors or professional fees above the limits
- Companies that have received a TDS default notice
- Anyone whose deductees are complaining about missing credit
Documents you need
- TAN of the deductor
- Challan details for the tax already paid
- Deductee list with PAN, amount and section
- Salary details for the employees covered
- Digital signature of the authorised signatory
Scanned copies are enough to begin. We check every document against the department's current format before filing, because a rejected form costs more time than a resubmitted scan.
How the filing runs
Get free consultationBooks to deductions
Every payment that attracts TDS is identified with its section and rate, which is where most defaults originate.
Challan reconciliation
Deductions are matched to the challans actually paid, because a return that does not tie to a challan gets flagged.
Return filing
The right form is filed for the quarter: 24Q for salary, 26Q for resident non salary, 27Q for non residents and 27EQ for collections.
Certificates
Form 16 and Form 16A are generated and issued, so your employees and vendors can claim the credit.
What it costs

professional fee per quarter, based on deductee count
Typical timeline: Filed before each quarterly due date

TDS returns questions
When are TDS returns due?
Quarterly: 31 July for April to June, 31 October for July to September, 31 January for October to December, and 31 May for January to March.
What does a late TDS return cost?
A fee of 200 rupees a day under section 234E, running until the return is filed and capped at the amount of TDS in that return. A separate penalty under section 271H can go up to one lakh rupees.
A deductee says the credit is not showing in their 26AS. Why?
Almost always a wrong or missing PAN, or a challan mismatch. Both are fixable with a correction return, and both are worth fixing quickly because the deductee cannot claim the credit until you do.
We deducted but have not filed for several quarters. What now?
We work out the late fee and interest position first, then file the pending quarters in order. The fee is capped per return, so the cost is knowable rather than open ended.
